Great Love Song

Watch the clip above, or go check it out on YouTube. If you don't have sound then at least read the lyrics. Afterwards, see my thoughts in the comments section of this post.

This is so accurate to how I have always felt about relationships (including marriage and especially raising kids.) In fact I would love a 60/40 or better deal, which me as the benefiting side. Even with this feeling I listened to the first part of the song thinking, -Wow, honest presentation but not really adding up to a very good girlfriend.- So the switch that it could be describing the male part of a heterosexual couple hit me pretty good. Because of course if you were a guy, "You just don’t feel don’t feel bad about it. It’s never even occurred to you to not go after all the things you’ve ever wanted to. You weren’t subconsciously conditioned to give up your dreams for me or that loved and ambitious were mutually exclusive things to be."

To me the best part is the final line, because I too "only have what it takes to be man, I’ve never had what it takes to be a woman."
