Vintage Dad

Sunday Mornin' Coming Down - A post about my Dad each Sunday, named after a song that he loved.

This is at Ipperwash Beach, where we used to go before we bought The Cottage. I can't tell my age, but I think I am older than 3 months, so this must be in 1985, shortly after I turned one. I am wearing my grandmother's crazy sunhat and have sand all over my mouth. (I wasn't a big sand eater - Mike was way worse.) I am also holding a book, which is pretty awesome. But, enough about me...

This is hilariously awesome vintage Dad; I can barely remember when he had his mustache. I like that he is just standing there looking bored - nothing to really do and no one to talk to at that particular moment. Also, he is just chilling out in an old-school life jacket, which we may still have - I definitely remember it. (We took the Laser up to Ipperwash every year.) What is interesting to point out is that he is around my age in this shot, would have just turned 31.

A Bit Bored By Rasta

I am up at The Cottage this weekend; Mum is in Edmonton visiting Mike and Aimee, so we are looking after Rasta. He is much less of a kitten and is lower energy now that he is older (and neutered.) He still plays with his toys much more than Two, but he seems, in general, more cat-like and less cuddly.

Given A Letter

This is some Facebook chain thing. I'm bored so thought I would do it. If you 'like' it on someone's status then they give you a letter and you have to do it. I didn't bother so am just going to use 'c' since it is the letter of my first name.

I 'got' the letter C
Something I like: Christmas
Something I hate: Cooking
Something I love: Candy
Something bad: Cancer

If you want to do this on your blog or Facebook, I give you the letter 's' since it is the letter of my last name.

Blocked

I have been having the hardest time coming up with things to blog about! I don't know why, new city, new program, new apartment, new friends, I should be overflowing with things to talk about. I just feel dead creatively. BLAH!!

Don't Be Afraid

I shouldn't write this post but I'm going to because I'm feeling broke and I have dreams of making money from my writing. In my current circumstances this could really only come from my blog and logically the only way I can make money on my blog is through the advertisements by AdSense. I put them up a while ago and the pennies are adding up, just not very quickly. I just wanted to tell you not to be afraid to click on an ad that interests you. I have clicked on some on Steph's blog, every now and then an ad about photography or writing appears on hers and I feel the need to check it out. They aren't terrible spam things. You click them and it goes to some normal site about something or the other, you don't get piles of pop-ups and other scary things. So, if something appears that appeals to you, don't be scared, click on it and check it out.
*Note: When I signed up for AdSense I promised that I would not click on ads that appeared on my own blog, I may also have agreed not to promote the ads by writing about them in this fashion but I don't really remember. So while I hate to write this cause it is annoyingly selling out, I also might not even have been allowed to write it.

Rerun Time

Just when I get used to a good TV schedule it stops. I know what shows I'm watching this year, when they are aired, where and when I can find them online! This week nothing new is airing. I'm hoping that America's Next Top Model will keep going but everything else is a rerun. I don't know why they do this, I was complaining and asking if it was an election but it turns out it is probably because of The World Series. So this week I can't watch:
-House
-How I Met Your Mother
-Big Bang Theory
-Glee
-Saturday Night Live
-Private Practice
I'm quickly running out of West Wing episodes on my computer so that is making it even worse. I was saddened by all this but then remembered there were other shows I liked to watch that I hadn't started this year. That means a lot of catching up to do with:
-30 Rock
-This Hour Has 22 Minutes

A True English Major

I really want to write and read. Just for the hell of it. (Otherwise known as reading and writing for pleasure.) I should just jump to and go to the library or borrow a book from a friend and start reading. I also should just start typing away at something, a story, essay, bad poetry, whatever. Maybe even finish the little script project I was writing for a friend. I don't know if it is that I feel bored or creative, not really quite motivated though, since I haven't done anything about this feeling.

Slowing Down

I guess I have slowed down my blogging. It seems I'm posting about every other day instead of everyday. This is for a bunch of reasons. I think the big one is not having a digital camera anymore, I really miss it but definitely can't afford to get another one. Also there are less people commenting, and I work alot so my life is a tad more boring. Wait, my life was always boring, scratch that last reason.

Leaving Now

I head out the door for Paris in a matter of moments. I'm very excited on the inside but calm and thoughtful on the outside. I hope I have packed everything. I hope I have an amazing time. I'm a little worried. That I'm too overweight, ugly, and unfashionable for Paris. That my french is too bad. That it is a city for lovers and I'm alone. That I will get bored or overwhelmed. That I have forgotten to pack something. That I will run out of money. That my friends here will forget me. That something awful will happen to someone I love while I'm gone. But these are all silly and stupid fears, and I'm stepping out on an amazing adventure. So screw it! France, here I come!

Yesterday Today Tomorrow

If you had to relive yesterday, would you do anything differently? I don't think I would, manly because I try to live with out regrets and wishing I had changed things. Also right now I feel like my life is pretty hopeless, boring, pathetic, depression and cyclic.

Blogging

I admit this post is pretty much just blogging for the sake of blogging. Must. Keep. Writing. In. My. Blog. Even if life feels pointless and unexciting. Money is tight, school is getting hard, I have a cold, and don't feel like doing anything, I keep falling into the same boring pathetic patterns, no need to write about them, again. Still I feel the world needs my mindless chattering so ... I. Must. Keep. Writing. In. My. Blog.

What to do?

I'm sitting here, and I have no idea what to do with myself. The problem is there are tons of things I could and should do, I just don't feel like doing any of them. I can't figure out what it is I want to do right now. I should clean the bunny cage, do homework, assignments, study, eat breakfast, do laundry, tidy my room or desk, brush my teeth, and get dressed. I could do anything I wanted like watch TV or a movie, write, paint, read, bath, workout, go for a walk, run or bike. I just am so bored and unmotivated. I have to work in a few hours too so that isn't helping. All this is making me cranky, and I hate being like that. It feels like I have been moody and cranky a lot more then usual lately, and I don't know why.
