A friend at work said that this reminded her of Jason...
The actor, Scott Eastwood, doesn't usually look like Jason, but I can totally see the resemblance in this poster.
A few months ago, right before they started watching the movie, Drew told Nic that the lead in the live-action Cinderella reminded him of me - and then that was all Nic could see. The titular character is played by Lily James, who does look a bit like me. We have the same brow line? Or maybe face shape?

Comments?
I have noticed a sharp decline in comments. There is also a slight decline in visitors to Always Standing; I went into Google Analytics to check that someone somewhere out there was still reading the dribble that I post, and a few people are. But I live for the comments, I post better and more often if I am getting feedback of some sort. I guess I'm one of those people, like Tinkerbell, who survive on applause.
Update On Me:
Finishing the last touches on my MRP. Hanging out at the cottage with my mom and having to deal with terrible internet. Starting to think about finding a job and really wanting to get a car.
Update On You:
(Respond in comments, don't be scared.)
What are your plans for the last remaining weeks of summer?

Champagne Birthday
I turned 24 (on the 24th, which makes it my Champagne Birthday). It was a really nice day. I woke up really early to go to a huge garage sale being held nearby with some friends. Then we watched Aladdin, which is one of my favorite movies. After a restful afternoon I started to get ready to go out. Anne did my make-up, which looked great. Jerrica and I got pretty tipsy and a few of us headed out on the town to look for some dancing. We were less than successful, probably because we went out too early, to the wrong places, in the summer when lots of students have left the city. It didn't matter because I had a great time anyway. After we got home we ordered pizza and hung out. I great way to spend my birthday, as I edge my way to a quarter century.

Painting 101
Lessons I learned from painting the new apartment for four days over two weekends:
-have lots of friends who can help with chores like this
-painting every room in a small basement apartment a different colour is an assault optically
-I-beams look better painted the colour of the ceiling
-bribes of food only work with certain people and only for so long
-even ceiling paint that goes on pink and dries white is hard to track what has been done
-primer over drywall and dark or bright colours
-colour tastes change over time and mine still haven’t matured
-paint can be chipped/washed off tile and linoleum
-always stir your paint well to get a consistent colour, we learned this the hard way
-show tunes and Disney songs are not appreciated by everyone
-painting is a work out
-it is way easier to just buy new roller refills than to clean them between colours
-with more than 5 people helping someone has to manage and that person can’t do much else
-you will always have to return to the store to get more supplies
-touch-ups are viciously cyclical and could be done forever, eventually you have to just stop
-drop sheets are a God send
-picking dried paint out of your hair hurts, best to wash it out

Movies
My Favourite Movies, in order, are:
1- A League Of Their Own
2- The Fifth Element
3- Aladdin
4- Labyrinth
5- Wag The Dog
6- 10 Things I Hate About You
I know that six is a strange number to have. I love many more in the Fantasy genre (Willow, Princess Bride.) The original three Star Wars always deserves a mention. Also not many comedies are listed though I love them too (Men In Tights, Wet Hot American Summer, Super Troopers). But those six are truely my favourites, and have been for a very very long time.

'Tis The Season
I had my first advent calender chocolate and it is snowing. I was so excited about December 1st that I knocked on my New Roommate's door at midnight and we made an even out of opening the little calender window. Of course I have a Disney Princess one, and the chocolate is way better then I remember, not bad for $1.99.

Daddy Editing
Growing up, we always had a large collection of movies, mostly illegally taped onto VHS or Beta by my dad. Interestingly, if it was a movie that my brother and I were allowed to watch, it was occasionally censured by him in the taping process. Usually for blood and graphic or frightening scenes, because I'm a wimp and would get upset, often unable to sleep at night. We knew this happened, and never really noticed. Teri and I used to watch Uncle Buck all the time at my house, then something happened and we lost the tape. Eventually we rented it to watch again. There were sections of the movie that had been totally missing from the copy we had always watched. Mainly the plot about the boyfriend sexually assaulting the older daughter and then Uncle Buck going after him. I watched The Three Musketeers tonight and realized my dad had done a number on that one as well. Amusingly it is a Disney film so pretty tame, but I had never seen most of the dungeon scenes before now.

Belle Of The Ball
This year, I was pretty for Halloween. But is it a costume, if in real life I actually am a Disney Princess?

Disney Princess
Am I a Disney Princess, or a prostitute? I took this quiz, and found out that I am Esmeralda, who frankly isn't a Princess, I think they are stretching it to "Disney Female Lead" .... unless ... she was a Gypsy Princess, which she may have been. They said I am "Mysterious and passionate. You are a survivor. Even though life has swung you some difficult situations you have a strong intuition that gets you through. Also, you have the capacity to sympathize and relate to a variety of different people." which isn't so bad. According to The Official Disney Princess Website, which is quiet scary and way too pink, the Official Disney Princesses are: Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, and Snow White, no mention of Esmeralda!! Aurora, who is Sleeping Beauty, is my favorite. I love that movie. Aladdin is also one of the best Disney movies, but Jasmine isn't all that cool. There are tons of Disney Princess Quiz's online, take the test I took [no longer active], which as aforementioned, includes many Female Disney Characters.
