Not The Same Person

I found out tonight that the person who sings Piano Man is not Billy Idol but instead someone called Billy Joel, who is a different person. I thought that Piano Man sounded very different from White Wedding and Billy Idol's other songs but for some reason I didn't figure it out before.
Clarification: I know and love the song Piano Man, and many other Billy Joel songs, I just thought they were sung by Billy Idol. I was quite impressed that Idol had such a varied musical repertoire. I just don't think I paid attention after someone said "Billy" since I thought there was only one "Billy" singer. Turns out there are two.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I love your popular cultural malapropisms. That just made my week. I used to drunken karaoke that song in my undergrad days.

Oh dear, I have really failed you as a mother. We played Billy Joel all the time. Of course it was on a tape with the name on it written by your Dad (ie unreadable). We rarely listened to Billy Idol except if he came on the radio.

You seriously didn't know who Billy Joel was?! The guys played him all the time. We will have to play his albums the next time you are over - I am sure you have heard almost all of his songs.

I'm happy to hear this gap in your Billy knowledge has been filled.

Eeek! Chris I don't know if we can be friends anymore :( Billy Joel is amazing -what about such classic as 'Uptown Girl' and 'Goodnight Saigon'?
