[conversation recently I had with a stranger in the grocery store after discussing my cute baby and me being at Mat leave]
Stranger: so what do you do?
Me: I am a social worker
Stranger: so you work with kids!
Me: No, I work with women struggling with domestic violence and mental health
Stranger: Oh yea, I saw a commercial for that.

Although I despise Bell's customer service tactics, I am very impressed by their initiative to put mental health in the public limelight. Mental health awareness/fundraising is a challenging area for companies & NGOs to tackle because it's so misunderstood and not nearly as visible. The easier go-to charities and "for-a-good-causes" often include kids, animals or both. It's awesome to see a company (even with a PR agenda)to be bold, open and willing to talk about a huge, often invisible, issue.
It's almost enough to make me want to return to Bell... almost.
Love, T
