Thoughts On Suicide - II

What if the act of committing suicide itself bears little moral meaning? It is neither considered a weak nor a strong thing to do. It's just a choice equal to many other choices in life. The choice to marry, or not. The choice to have children, or not. The choice to live, or not.

I never got the whole, suicide is wrong thing; it's something done against yourself, so you really have to only answer to yourself, and if you're dead, what does it matter? Family and friends - well, thats unfortunate, and you shouldn't hurt them, but I don't see it as a wrong thing in the sense that you're doing them wrong. In China and Japan, people are willing to commit suicide because it's seen as a viable, honorable solution, similar to how suicide bombers can truly think they'll go to heaven if the die killing ifidels (or whatever). If you've been taught to think it, you can do it. Thing in North America is that suicide for honour isn't really an issue - you only would want to commit suicide if you were in despair, or deep depression, and generally that's a result of distorted thinking. The only reason I'm against suicide is that it's generally a product of a distorted, wrong view than a wrong thing. I don't think our society is conducive to a healthy mind and I think it's really hard to be alive today, esp if you're a girl, and not feel sick sometimes. I can see suicide as a viable, even preferable option, for someone who's committed murder or rape or some repeat/combo of the two. But for a regular person who looks at the world and just feels despair - that's understandable, but to turn it on yourself, to me can only be the product of a flawed line of reason. There's lots of reasons to want to escape the world but the urge to live, to survive, to be is our strongest one, and if that dies, well, then either the world is a terrible soul killing place indeed or the thinking is flawed. If you know the thinking/the mind is flawed, then suicide is not the answer because it is a permanent solution to a problem that probably has a viable solution.
I wish the world was different.
Just sharing thoughts - love you
