Religiously, Easter is pretty much the biggest celebration of the year. Before and after Easter Sunday are tons of celebrations and Holy days. My favorite being Palm Sunday which I missed celebrating this year.
*Palm Sunday – the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates an event reported by all four Gospels (Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John) - the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. I don’t even know what that means, but it is customary in many churches for the worshippers to receive palm leaves. These are usually folded into the shape of little crosses, and I always thought they were so neat.
*Good Friday - the Friday before Easter, commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus.
*Holy Saturday - it is said on this day Christ "rested" in the tomb, in death.
*Easter Sunday - celebrates the resurrection of Jesus
*Easter Monday - the post-Easter festivities involved a week of celebration, but has been reduced to one day
